Giddy!

I STARTED SCHOOL YESTERDAY!

I still don't have my books, largely because I didn't order them in time, but I'm managing, and so far (all two days) I'm really happy with the classes I'm taking.

I've got "Technical Communication", which will really help me in the future as a translator, "Stress Management", which will really help with my bipo, and "Perspectives in Literature", which is with the head of the English department, so I'm looking forward to learning a lot.

I think I'll do really well, and I'm super-excited. And here's something even more exciting.... I'll be graduating this December!!!!

YUCKO!

Mike had quite the day yesterday. My mom's sewer pipes have apparently been getting clogged, and she was worried that they would back up completely, so she enlisted Mike to help clean them out. Her house is about 150 years old, so the pipes are clay, and they're always getting tree roots inside. So my brave, macho hubby and my mom rented this special tool called a snake to clean out the pipes and spent yesterday afternoon covering themselves with all sorts of stinky gook. Gross.

It was a lot of physical work and Mike came home pretty tired and way stinky, but victorious! Huzzah! My mom was super-grateful to have his help, too. So as a reward for his hard day we got Chinese for dinner and went to see the new X-Men movie. (his pick, but I actually enjoyed it.)

What an awesome husband I have!

YAY!

I don't usually get excited about spending loads of money, but I'm excited today! I paid USU for my summer classes, so I'm clear for takeoff! YAY!

Because I needed one more credit than I anticipated, I decided to spread my course-load over two semesters instead of one. It'll be more doable, and I suppose I can handle waiting until Christmas for my degree. Plus, it'll be easier to pay for that way. So I'm taking 3 classes this summer and 4 in the fall, and then I'll be a COLLEGE GRADUATE!

I'm just a teensy bit excited, can you tell?

Sick

Mike and I both have colds. Our house is pretty much a snot-fest at the moment, which is not so fun. Any good cold remedies out there? We've been consuming obscene amounts of OJ, but to no avail. Help!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NEEN!

My sister Kelsey is 23 today. I thought I'd celebrate by listing 23 reasons why she's so awesome:
23. She has the best hair ever--curly, but not too much.
22. She's a great student and very driven.
21. She's always been the peacemaker of the family.
20. She's very easy to get along with.
19. She's always willing to help out however she can.
18. She's a great runner.
17. She's also a great musician; we have so much fun singing duets.
16. She can always make me laugh!
15. She's very good at making people feel comfortable.
14. She's quite intelligent. She's going to make a great counselor.
13. She has a great sense of humor. She loves pranks.
12. She's always there for me.
11. She and I really got along as teenagers. We did just about everything together.
10. She's gorgeous!
9. She's not afraid to be herself. Just ask Balloon Blankie.
8. She's just about the most patient person I know.
7. Someday, when Mike and I have kids, I know she'll make a great aunt. (and babysitter!)
6. She's very loyal to the people she loves. I know she'd go to bat for me any day.
5. We can always have fun together.
4. She makes me want to be a better person: the kind of big sister she can admire.
3. She has the greatest smile.
2. She makes the funniest faces! She's so expressive.
and the number one reason....
1. She's one of my very best friends!

This is it...

The final installment of my story has been posted on Half Beautiful. Check it out!

Don't worry-- the blogging will continue. There's all kind of info. out there that people need to know about Bipo and other mental illnesses, so I'll blog until my fingers fall off. :)
